Piper is a relatively new village of 454 that sprung up when several farmers decided to build homes for their children close together to cut travel time to see there children. In the first tavern of the area a bard who excelled at playing the flute drew admirers from miles around. She was said to have been so talented and beautiful that she alone might be the true reason for the sudden population increase that turned this little hamlet into a village within two years. She has since moved on rather mysteriously, but no one is sure why or where. The mayor of the village was so enthralled by the young woman that he decided to immortalize her by changing the name of it from (name) to Piper. Since her parting many musicians were hired to fill the void, but no one could compete with her. Most have left over the years, but the village still has two famed musicians that support the economy by selling copies of their beautiful songs and playing for rich nobles and merchants in nearby cities like Duplesca and High Crown. Being a prosperous farming community, Piper supplies nearby areas with grains, vegetables, bear, ale, and music. However, they are greatly lacking in metals, wood and fish, a favored dish of the locals.
